Last year after hitting breaking point with stress levels and anxiety I joined weekly yoga lessons with my Mum (Yes if you have visited my about page . . here we are!) In that first 1 hour session I relaxed and zoned out more than I had in the last 8 years all together. The Sanctuary became my happy place and I had an urge to be there whenever I wasn’t. The 8 weeks of sessions were over, summer holidays came, and went, work started back, anxiety starting filling up during the day, and I was missing the calm, peace, fitness, and time for myself.
Yoga has always been something I have felt drawn to yet felt like I had no time or was never in the right zone to enjoy a practice at home on my own.
It was by joining a centre and admiring the joyful teacher and her yoga sessions I understood the impact yoga practice can have on your life.
I have set my self this challenge (or should I say ‘this enjoyment’) of Yoga every day for a year. I’m assuming there will be positive changes along the way so figured I would keep up a blog for my own motivation, to meet others, to be open to new ideas and tips or experiences, and hopefully enjoy this journey with others by my side.
- A big shout out to the beautiful Amber from The Sanctuary yogavibes.nz for your kind and calm nature and that voice that puts me in the zone!
